“I am extremely pleased to announce we have officially received the Notification of Registration from the Charities Directorate of the Canadian Revenue Agency stating that RCI Foundation Canada is a registered charity,” said Albert Duwyn, chairman of RCI Foundation Canada. In July, during the RCI Foundation Canada board meeting in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the officers including Secretary Ralph Paroli and Treasurer Bob Elsdon, set in motion the Canadian counterpart of the RCI Foundation. Its goals are to:
- Advance education by providing scholarships, bursaries, awards, and research grants with emphasis on persons or students who, without financial assistance, might not otherwise be able to continue their education and research,
- Educate the public by providing courses, seminars, and workshops about improving sustainability and environmental performance within the construction industry; and
- Conduct research into developing and improving sustainable and environmentally friendly construction practices, construction materials, and building techniques to assist in the preservation of the environment.
